2. Cosette was in love with Marius. When Jean Valjean and Cosette stopped visiting the Luxembourg she was heartbroken, then when her father offered her to go back again she happily agreed. Afterwards when she did not saw Marius she got depressed.

CosetteThis was when Cosette was with the Thénardiers and was treated worst then a dog. She swept the floors and attended the family. She felt alone and unloved.

Jean Valjean is teaching Cosette how to read. He loved her and felt alive when he was with her. She felt he was his father.

When Cosette and Jeanl Valjean were refuged by the monastery she was taught how to read and wright, she had a new life and an education.

Cosette is now the daughter of Jean Valjean. When she is with her he is himself. He gives her love and comfort. Jean Valjean does not pretend to be any body else when she is with her. We could say that Jean Valjean is "Jean Valjean".

Poor Jean Valjean

Jean Valjean had a loving famliy; mother and a sister. They were extremely poor and Jean Valjean had to commit crimes for his family to survive. Unfortunately his family died and he was left as an orphan.

Jean Valjean was arrested for stealing bread. He did not mean to hurt anyone but got punished for stealing bread.

Jean Valjean was sentenced to four years of prison. He tried to escape several times and was punished with 15 years more. Which left him with 19 years in prison.

When Jean Valjean got out of prison he had no were to go. When he got to D-- he had no where to stay. This was do to the fact that he was en ex convict, everybody rejected to offer services to him.

The priest took compasion with Jean Valjean and took him in. Hi helped him and gave him advice on how to live a good life.
